Brain Awareness Event -- Monday, March 15, 1999
Enjoy learning more about the mysteries of your brain by joining us onMonday, March 15!
This one day event at Pacific Science Center is a kick-off event for BrainAwareness Week.
This nationwide effort is organized by the Dana Alliance for BrainInitiatives and the Society for Neuroscience and runs March 15-21. Itsgoal is to promote the public and personal benefits of brain research.Highlights include:
- Brain Power exhibits: hold a real human brain and explore differentintelligences with 30 hands-on, interactive exhibits (Room 301/302 nearthe Denny Way entrance). These exhibits are part of a collaborationbetween Group Health Cooperative and Pacific Science Center.
- Eric Chudler, creator of the Neuroscience for Kids home page andResearch Associate Professor at the University of Washington, will beavailable with a comparative neuroanatomy display and interactivesurprises.
- Washington Association for Biomedical Research will have aninformation booth set up.
- An Illusions demonstration will happen at 12:15, in the Building OneDemonstration area.
- Activities available periodically during the day will include theCow Eye Dissection Cart and the Skull Cart.
- Brain Games Exhibit will be in Building 2, near the entrance to thenew Insect Village and Tropical Butterfly areas.
